Anonymus, Præludium pedaliter
This is about the tenth anonymous prelude I publish from manuscript Lynar B3. It has two distinct parts or episodes (as it is one contnuous piece). In the first part the right and left hand play eighth note figurations alternatively. In the second part descending motive of eight notes in total is elaborated contrapuntally. Except for the forst entry, each entry of this motive overlaps half way with the previous entry.
Comparing these anonymous preludes is a bit difficult, as they all bear the name Præludium or Præambulum. Perhaps I should designate them with the page or foilio number from the manuscript. This prelude can be found on folio nr 37. So, let’s call it Præludium pedaliter, folio 37.
The recording was done on the sample set of the Müller-organ in the Sint Bavokerk in Haarlem by Voxus Organs for Hauptwerk.
