Christian Gotthilf Tag, Ich weiß daß mein Erlöser lebt
Tag’s prelude tot the choral “Ich weiß daß mein Erlöser lebt” is again a nice composition. Tag writes an almost frivolous accompaniment with many many triplets staccato eight notes, that contracsts very nicely with the choral melody. Intruiging is that Tag writes several paralel octaves between accompaniment and choral melody. As Tag presents himself as an able craftsman in the compositions by his hans I’ve played thus fas, I’m not sure whether these paralels are intentional or the result of copy errors.
The recording was done with the Hauptwerk software and the sample set, made by Voxus, of the Van Dam organ (1832) in Tholen (https://www.voxusorgans.com/en/product/tholen).
