Georg Andreas Sorge, Jesu meines Lebens Leben
Where Sorge’s prelude to “Ist dieser nicht des Menschen Sohn” is a bit bland and uninspired, his prelude to “Jesu meines Lebens Leben” is far more spirited and lively. In the introduction the choral theme is played twice (in bass voice and in tenor voice) before it enters in the solo voice. The left hand plays a lively accompaniment to the chorale melody, played with the right hand. Curious is that in the last few bars of the first section Sorge leaves out the pedal part and leaves the bass part to the left hand.
The recording was done on the sample set of the Van Dam organ (1832) in Tholen by Voxus Organs for Hauptwerk.
