H.W. Tauscher, Vivace quasi Rondo
H.W. Tauscher is a bit of an enigma. There are a few pieces of him around, but nothing is known of his life. I could not find the christian names that go with the initials. A year of birth and death can be found on the internet, but the source of these is unclear. Two pieces by his hand are already available on this site, a Fugue on the name of Bach and a prelude to Jesu meine Freude. Recently I found a manuscript, containing two further pieces by Tauscher. This Vivace is one of them. Where Tauscher in the earlier two pieces seemed a serious and thouroghly contrapuntal man, he shows himself now from a more frivolous side. A short piece, but very nice. Can be used as a postlude anytime.
The recording was done on the sample set of the Van Dam organ (1832) in Tholen by Voxus Organs for Hauptwerk.
