Johann Bernhard Bach, Vom Himmel hoch da komm ich her
Johann Bernhard Bach (1676 – 1749) was second cousin to Johann Sebastian Bach. Not much of his works survive, but the few works that did survive are of high quality. The prelude on “Vom Himmel hoch da komm ich her” is a wonderful trio, with the choral melody in long solemn notes, accompanied by a lively almost frivolous soprano voice.
The recording was done on the sample set of the Bader-organ in the Walburgiskerk in Zutphen by Sonus Paradisi for Hauptwerk.
