The next in the series compositions by Johann Christoph Conrad is a prelude to the choral “O Jesu, du edle Gabe” (which has the same melody as “Sei gegrüßet, Jesu gütig”). It is a bicinium with the choral melody in the right hand. The left hand plays the accompaniment. This simple setup seemed to me ideal to use the 16 feet Regaal of the transept organ in the Laurenskerk in Rotterdam, a strange stop that I hardly ever use.
