Johann Christoph Oley, Wir Christenleut (2)
This is the second chorale prelude by Oley to the melody of “Wir Christenleut” that I publish. The first can be found here: https://partitura.org/index.php/johann-christoph…wir-christenleut/. Where the first one has a rather subdued characdter, this second one is clearly far more exuberant. The hands move in raped triplets across the manuals and the pedal plays a double part, providing both the choral melody and the harmonic foundation.
The recording was done with the Hauptwerk software and the sample set of the Holzey organ of St. Peter and Paul in Weissenau by Prospectum (https://www.prospectum.com/index.php?language=english&id1=2&id2=9). The video quality is sadly rather bad. I tried another camera for this recording, but that camera turned out to perform rather poorly in tyhe low light circumstance of my music room. My phones camera is obviously the better choice.
