Johann Georg Meister, Vorspiel für 2 Manuale und Pedal (opus 11 nr 6)
Johann Georg Meister (1793 – 1870) was a German organist and composer. He was organist in the Stadtkirche in Hildburghausen. His opus 11 is available as a digital copy in the Saxon State and University Library Dresden. Number 6 in this opus is a ‘prelude for 2 manuals and pedal’. It is in effect a nice Trio, that more than the pieces of Meister’s opus 11 I posted untill now show the time in which they originated. In some 50 bars at least 7 different keys are touched, from e minor to a flat major. And the piece starts and ends in C major.
The recording was done on the sample set of the Volkmann organ in the St. Augustine’s church in Lipiny by Piotr Grabowski for Hauptwerk.
