Johann Heinrich Buttstett, Jesus Christus unser Heiland
This choral prelude is transcribed from manuscript Mus.ms. 22541 III, owned by the Staatsbibliothek Berlin. The dorian sixth in the first bar is perhaps a bit uncomfortable to our ‘modern’ ears, but was of course perfectly acceptable at the time this piece was written. In the second half of the piece the upper voices move in a long stretch of eigth notes. To keep it more interesting (to me) I throw in some extra sixteenth notes here and there.
The recording was done on the sample set of the Silbermann organ of the Stadtkirche Zöblitz by Prospectum.
