Johann Heinrich Buttstett, Vom Himmel hoch da komm ich her
A small prelude by Buttstett, but a fine example of how to elaborate a simple chorale harmonisation into a chorale prelude. The left hand plays the harmonisation, the right hand plays the chorale melody, richly adorned with sixteenth and eigth notes. All the melody notes are there on the right spot where they should be, just with a lot of others notes between them.
The recording was done on the sample set of the Mascioni of the parisch church in Azzio, made by Piotr Gabrowsky.
