Johann Michael Bach, Allein Gott in der Höh sei Ehr
I already published two versions of Johann Michael Bach’s prelude to “Allein Gott in het Höh sei Ehr”. (see here and here). The Neumeister Sammlung contains a third version of this piece. The major difference with the other two versions is that Neumeister does not indicate the use of two manuals as both other sources do. For the rest this version is more like the one in manuscript Mus. Ms 30439 with little differences in voice leading. Those difference could be the result of errors in Neumeister’s transcription, as he makes numerous mistakes in the other pieces in his manuscript as well.
The recording was done with the sample set of the Silbermann organ of the Stadtkirche Zöblitz by Prospectum. As Neumeister does not indicate the use of two manuals, I play it on just one manual, without the use of pedals.
