Johann Philipp Kirnberger, Lobe den Herren (EngK 210a)
The chorale prelude on “Lobe den Herren den mächtigen König” by Kirnberger is contained in at least two manuscripts, both owned by the Staatsbibliothek Berlin: Am B 396 and Mus.ms. 11633/25. The versions in both manuscripts differ from each other. The general outline is the same, but lots of little details are different. Hence the decision by Ruth Engelhardt to give both a seperate number: 210a and 210b. The score published below is 210a. The other one, 210b, is available on imslp: http://imslp.org/wiki/Special:ImagefromIndex/200843.
Manuscript Mus.ms. 11633/25 is not available as a digital copy online. I hope it will be, somewhere in the (near) future. The description of its content (https://opac.rism.info/metaopac/search.do?methodToCall=quickSearch&Kateg=0&Content=452015935) shows that it is probably a copy of Am. B. 396. It would be great to study the differences in the pieces contained in both.
The recording was done on the sample set of the Van Dam organ (1832) in Tholen by Voxus Organs for Hauptwerk.
