Paul Siefert (?), Fantasia Octavi Toni ex G

The fantasia octavi Toni ex G is the eleventh fantasia from manuscript Becker II.2.51, owned by the Stadtbibliothek Leipzig. It features three distinguisable episodes with each it’s own fugue theme. In each of these episodes the respective themes appear in their inversed form as well. In the third episode the theme is also shortened by halving the note value of each of the notes of the theme. And this shortened version also appears inverted. The fantasia is a nice show of counterpointal prowess of the composer.

The recording was done with the Hauptwerk software and the sampleset, made by Sonus Paradisi, of the Bader organ in the Walburgiskerk, Zutphen (https://www.sonusparadisi.cz/en/organs/netherlands/zutphen-virtual-organ-model.html).
