Based on stylistical grounds and on references to other sources two of these pieces can be attributed to Johan Pachelbel, two to Johann Michael Bach and one to Friedrich Wilhelm Zachow. The prelude to “Christ lag in Todesbanden” is one of the two pieces that is supposedly written by Johann Pachelbel. Though since there is no way to know for certain, I designate it as ‘anonymous’ in the score, with the possibility of Pachelbel’s authorship added in parentheses.
