The harmonic progression in this second fugue sometimes sounds a bit strange to our &#x201C;modern&#x201D; ears. But for the largest part it sounds like it was written decades later. Transcribing these fugues is already my pet project. Great to be finally able to read tabulatura. Otherwise I would probably never have heard of Lohet. It&#x2019;s actually strange his work isn&#x2019;t played more often. I&#x2019;ve already transcribed fugues three and four and they&#x2019;re just as worthwhile. Makes me eager to learn the rest of them. In the original edition there is no indication whether the bass-part should be played on the pedals or not. In this second fugue I think it is almost mandatory to use the pedals, because it sounds better that way. But for the purist, I made a manualiter score as well. The recording was done on the sample set of the Silbermann organ of the Stadtkirche Z&#xF6;blitz by Prospectum.
