The first volume contains 33 easy pieces, that can be played without the use of pedals. The second half of this volume is a section called “Pièces Funèbres”, pieces intended to be used during funeral services. This prelude has the same overal structure as the preceding Offertoire bref I published a few days ago. The first half of the piece is simply repeated in the second half, transposed a quarter up and a short coda finishes the piece. As it is written in three part harmony, it is a lot less difficult to play than the preceding Offertoire bref. The recording was done with the Hauptwerk software and the sampleset, made by Voxus, of the Stahlhuth/Jahn organ in the St. Martin’s church, Dudelange.
