The first is a piece by Kauffmann, based on the prelude &#8220;Nun kom der heiden Heiland&#8221;. The manuscript contains four preludes by Kauffmann on this choral. I guess they could be played all four one after another as a kind of chorale partita. The recording was done with the sampleset, made by Organ Art Media, of the Arp Schnitger organ in Steinkirchen. Kaufmann prescribes a Vox Humana for the chorale melody. The organ in Steinkirchen does not have an Vox Humana, but it does have the beautiful Krumphorn.
