It also features one choral prelude by Johann Heinrich Buttstett, based on the choral “Christ ist erstanden”. K\u00f6rner writes a full measure rest in the choral melody in bar 20. That is obviously an error, and makes one doub how reliable K\u00f6rner is as a source for this composition. But I have no other source, so let’s hop the rest of the notes are indeed what Buttstett wrote. It is a small, well written composition. The soprano voice features the chorale melody, while the other two voices play a lively accompaniment. “Christ ist erstanden” is possibly the oldest liturgical song in German, already being sung around 1100. The depth of history, connected with playing the organ, always awes me. The composition is a bit too short for two pages and a bit too long for one page. I made two versions, a one page and a two page vesion, so anyone can choose which version looks best to play from. The recording was done with the Sweelinq software and the sampleset of the Ahrend organ in the Oude Kerk, Amsterdam (https:\/\/sweelinq.com\/product\/amsterdam-nl-oude-kerk-ahrend-organ).
