This toccata features a very short introduction (only 7 bars long), followed by a bicinium (except for the last 4 bars, where a third voice is introduced). The choral melody of &#8221; Meine Seele erhebet den Herrn&#8221;  is played with the right hand, while the left hand plays a largely freestyle accompaniment. Only in the bar between the two phrases of the melody is material from the choral melody heard in the left hand.<br \/>\nThe manuscript uses a way of notating notes in the great octave that I am not familiar with.
