The chorale “Sei Lob und Ehr\u2019 dem h\u00f6chsten Gut” was written in 1673 by Johann Jakob Sch\u00fctz. It was sung on the melody of “Es ist das Heil uns kommen her”. Bach wrote his cantate and chorale prelude using this melody and so does Kittel.
\nThis first prelude by Kittel has the chorale melody in long notes in the soprano voice, accompanied in equally long notes in the alto and tenor voice. The rythmic variation is provided by the bass voice, played with the pedals.<\/p>\n

The recording was done on the sample set of the Van Dam organ (1832) in Tholen by Voxus Organs<\/a> for Hauptwerk.<\/p>\n
