The harmonic progression in this second fugue sometimes sounds a bit strange to our &#8220;modern&#8221; ears. But for the largest part it sounds like it was written decades later. Transcribing these fugues is already my pet project. Great to be finally able to read tabulatura. Otherwise I would probably never have heard of Lohet. It&#8217;s actually strange his work isn&#8217;t played more often. I&#8217;ve already transcribed fugues three and four and they&#8217;re just as worthwhile. Makes me eager to learn the rest of them. <\/p>\n<p>In the original edition there is no indication whether the bass-part should be played on the pedals or not. In this second fugue I think it is almost mandatory to use the pedals, because it sounds better that way.
