Henry Heron (~1725 – 1795?) was an English organist and composer. Not much is known about his life. Year of birth and year of death are unknown. But since he was appointed as organist of the church of St Magnus around 1745, a birth date somewhere around 1725 seems reasonable. The next organist of the church of St Magnus was appointed in 1795, either because Heron had died or retired because of old age.
\nHeron published 10 voluntaries in 1760 in an edition ‘published for the Author’. They were later reissued in about 1765. <\/p>\n

I found this work on the website of Johannus.com. They publish an organ work every month in there “musical contributions” series. The works themselves are often interesting, but the typographical quality is very poor in my opinion. So I re-typset the works I want to play myself. And having done that I might as well share them with whoever is interested.<\/p>\n

The recording was done on the sample set of the Silbermann organ of the Stadtkirche Z\u00f6blitz by Prospectum<\/a>. Not exactly an English organ, but the beautifull principal is excellent for the first part and the Cornet is of course used for the second part.<\/p>\n
