Two pieces of the mysterious H.W. Tauscher<\/a> that are worth re-editing appeared in a periodical called “Orgel Journal”, in 1835. One is a choral prelude on “Jesu meine Freude”, the other an intricate 5-voice fugue on “B-A-C-H”. The chorale prelude was the subject of the previous post<\/a>, the fugue is the subject of this post.
\nThe fugue treats several possibilities of this famous theme: rectus, different forms of stretto, inversion and diminution (last pedal statement of the theme). Whoever Tauscher was, he knew his counterpoint. <\/p>\n

The recording was done on the sample set of the M\u00fcller-organ in the Sint Bavokerk in Haarlem by Voxus Organs<\/a> for Hauptwerk.<\/p>\n
