The choral melody is presented in the middle voice, surrounded by two lively outer voices. Curiously, the prelude states the choral melody twice. There are more pieces in which Kauffmann does that, for example the prelude on &#8220;Vom Himmel hoch da komm ich her&#8221; (to be published in a few days).
