Ernest Grosjean, Sortie
Ernest Grosjean (1844 – 1936) published “Pièces pour orgue ou harmonium”, a set of 56 pieces in two volumes, in 1902. The first volume contains 33 easy pieces, that can be played without the use of pedals. This Sortie is the third Sortie from the collection. It is a solemn piece, more an accompaniment for a slow pace than for people eager to get home. It’s intruiging that Grosjean did not include a toccata or another flashy piece in his “Pièces pour orgue”.
The recording was done on the sample set of the Müller-organ in the Sint Bavokerk in Haarlem by Voxus Organs for Hauptwerk.
