Johann Gottfried Walther, Lob sei dem allmächtigen Gott
Walther is of course well known, and as such not really the subject of Partitura Organum. But this piece is too beautiful to ignore. The chorale melody is played in the soprano voice, with lots of ombellishments and flourishes. The accompanyment is based on the chorale melody itself, in diminution in the alto and tenor voice, and just plain in the bass voice. Walther at the peak of his ability.
The recording was done on the sample set of the Bader-organ in the Walburgiskerk in Zutphen by Sonus Paradisi for Hauptwerk.
